Salt Lake City | Development Manager

Description: The development manager will be responsible for a team consisting of internal and offshore resources for a financial services application. He/she will be responsible for overseeing quality design and implementation, enforcing engineering best-practices, coordinating offshore work, handling internal personnel matters, and conducting some production issue root cause analysis. An analytical mind is mandatory. The successful manager will have at least 5-10 years of hands on experience in his/her career working in .NET, ColdFusion, SQL Server technologies. J2EE/Oracle experience is a plus. Prior leadership experience is preferred.

Short term focus will be on shoring up the application and researching/resolving production support issues. Mid term focus is managing offshore development efforts to include redesign/architect of legacy code and implementing solid development practices. The development manager will have significant flexibility to use their creativity in the redesign process. Although this is a small team the manager will focus on code reviews, personnel issues and will not be involved in day to day coding. This product has significant upside revenue potential as it becomes more robust and scalable.
